The motive for the creation of the resent webpage has been the love for the specific breed on the one hand and, on the other hand, the lack of relevant information on the broader Hellenic space. The present site also intends at keeping our visitors informed about Panland’s news and specifically about the course of our Pyrenees’ breeding, their growth, the distinctions they achieve, new dogs’ arrivals at Panland as well as, generally, any other event in relation to our dogs which might interest the visitors of our website. We hope the present website becomes a useful tool and offers valuable information to Pyrenean Mountain Dogs’ fans.
Pan, the ancient Greek god who has the hindquarters, legs, and horns of a goat, son of Hermes and nymph Dryope, protector god of nature, the wild, shepherds, flocks, goats and mountain wilds, lived, according to ancient Greeks, in the Arcadian mountains. Therefore, as our origin derives from Arcadia as well, and specifically from the highlands of the imperious Parnon Mount, we chose to give the name of this mountain to our first Pyrenean Mountain Dog (Parnon De Alba De Los Danzantes) and also to name the land that welcomed him, Panland, after the name of the god of the Arcadian mountains who protected the shepherds and their flocks, which, besides, is the principal mission of the Great Pyrenees.
Our farm is the home to 9 Pyrenean Mountain Dogs at the moment (2 male and 7 female) and we’er expecting new births soon.
